My she to love, spirit of sappho, by: Sapp-hirepoetry

I await thee

My darling dear,
I await you like night falls on an empty sky..
forfill my longing..
touch my hands...
warm breeze across my lips..
I cross my legs, patiently for thee I await you...
forfill the longing I so much desire..
my heart breaks...
oh how my heart breaks...

The message

Is it by chance we met?
there is nothing by chance..
it was planned..
Somewhere in this big universe...
I stopped turning and landed here..
You may say, Who is this writer?
that's not important...
The message ones hears are the importants
of life..
As if this poem was written days and days before...
Nope...tonight, right now, as I sit...
I shall truly be passed on..
because I will be heard..

Come be with me

Inspired by the sounds,
footprints and the noise..
I rise up onto my feet,
found standing in the sand..
Hands held back reaching for her,
come, come, to be with me...
Fingertips almost touching,
she held back...
I reached for her,
all the fail attempts..
I cried, I cried,
until there were no more tears...

What is the painting that accompanies this posting. One of the Pre-Rafaelites? http://www.beaconbroadside.com/.m/broadside/2008/06/poetry-for-prid.html?p=1?

Jessie

The painting is Sappho and Erinna at Mytelene by Simeon Solomon. You're absolutely right--he was an English pre-Raphaelite: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simeon_Solomon
