A National Coming Out Day Reading List
October 11, 2013
We talked with Michael Bronski, Anne Pellegrini, and Michael Amico before a recent event at Brookline Booksmith about whether it’s easier to come out today than it used to be. This and 20 other myths are unpacked in their new book “You Can Tell Just by Looking”.
Their talk inspired us to put together a list of recommended reading in honor of National Coming Out Day. The list also includes some select favorites from our backlist: Kate Bornstein's A Queer and Pleasant Danger, Come Out and Win by Sue Hyde, Out Law by Lisa Keen, Mama's Boy, Preacher's Son by Kevin Jennings, and From the Closet to the Courtroom by Carlos A. Ball.
Finally, if you're interested in reading other LGBT-related books and resources that Beacon has to offer, be sure to visit our Queer Voices page. Happy National Coming Out Day!
